Joshua Tree

At the beginning of July, my brother and I took a two day trip to Joshua Tree National Park in southern California. I grew up less than two hours away from this amazing place and had never been. Why? I have no idea!

I have a weird obsession with the desert lately and I can't seem to get enough of it. I think I've fallen in love with the thought that the plants residing in the desert hardly ever get enough nutrients to even sustain themselves, but somehow they do. They are there growing and blossoming and giving nutrients to others, while barely taking anything. That's beautiful. Giving with all you have and never asking for much in return. That's a love story. That's what I see when I look across the desert; a very dry, hot, love story that paints the sky the deepest shades of burning colors, when the sun sinks.

Here are some photographs of our trip. Make sure to scroll all the way through for the epic, unedited sunset picture, that lit my face on fire.

Happy Sunday, friends! Go get in beauty's way this week :)
